Police raid Mweshipandeka school hostel
The police raided the school hostel last week after the school management found some learners in possession of whiskey smuggled from Angola.

The Oshana police have warned pupils of Mweshipandeka High School to stay away from criminal activities and to focus on their education.
The region’s police spokesperson, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, said this comes after police searched the school hostel and discovered whiskey, cellphones and knives.
Aiyambo said officers from the Ongwediva police, supported by reinforcements from the regional operations subdivision, conducted a surprise search on Tuesday morning.
“This move was necessitated after some learners from the school were last week found in possession of liquor (whiskey). The school management tipped off the local police station commander, who then organised a search of the school premises, focusing mostly on the dormitories,” he said.
Aiyambo said the pupils were informed about the dangers of alcohol and drug use.
He said the police also emphasised that possession of items which are against the school rules would land them in trouble with the law.
“Parents are once again urged to safeguard their children’s behaviour with the school and to report those involved in drugs and consuming alcohol such as the illegally imported whiskey from the neighbouring country Angola,” Aiyambo said.
