Pimp your ride Windhoek style
Local petrol heads got a chance to show-off their passion for their cars this past Saturday, when Ricky's Custom Car Shop hosted its second annual sound-off and car show at Ramblers sportsfield in the capital.
Just like last year, owner Ricky Hill and his team proved their talent in real time by custom-building a Volkswagen Golf 5 in under 90 minutes.
“We said last year the show would become an annual affair, that's done. So for next year's event, I just want to invite all car clubs to participate,†Hill said.
This year's event featured five competitive categories for enthusiasts, namely drag cars, the sound-off competition, motorcycles, 'custom cars and old schoolers.
"Next year we aim to really emphasise the sound-off aspect, so instead of publically customising a car again, we will take an already modified vehicle and build a sound system into it,†Hill says.
He also thanked all the sponsors of the event, who also contributed trophies, the use of the premises, security and t-shirts.
