The pensioner, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughter, appeared before Magistrate Kandiwapa Nangombe on a charge of rape.
He was denied bail and the matter was postponed until today for a formal bail application.
According to the charge sheet the molestation happened between 2017 and January this year at Rehoboth.
It is alleged that the accused repeatedly sexually molested his daughter by inserting his finger into her vagina at their residence in Rehoboth's Block B location.
The accused was charged with the same offence in 2015, but that charge was withdrawn due to a lack of evidence.
Public prosecutor Rosalia Aihuki represented the State in the matter, while the accused was represented by Christopher Stanley of Stanley Law Chambers.
