Okahandja to witness thrilling end to Block Boys tourney
Having started with more than 40 football teams, the remaining knockout fixtures in the Block Boys tournament will be played this weekend.
The matches will start at the Nau-Aib Stadium in Okahandja at 07:00 tomorrow.
The netball category was concluded on the first weekend of the tournament.
Truck Team took home the N$5 000 (plus a trophy and gold medals) when they defeated the host team, Block Girls, in the final. The runners-up walked away with N$2500.
Now it is up to the football sides to determine who walks away with the bragging rights and the N$15 000 cash prize, trophy and gold medals.
One team - Katutura Soccer Union (KASU) side Okatjasorui - has already made it to the semi-finals.
The runners-up will walk away with N$8 000 and silver medals, and individual players will be rewarded with a Player of the Tournament trophy and the Top Scorer Golden Boot.
The semi-final losers will each get N$3 500 in the football tournament, which has become a permanent fixture on Okahandja’s football calendar since being introduced in 2011.
