NFA to offer fitness courses in September
The Namibia Football Association (NFA), in conjunction with FIFA, will be hosting Fitness and Conditioning as well as Member Association (MA) FIFA/NFA Administration and Management courses during the month of September.
The courses will take place at the NFA’s offices in Katutura.
Fitness and Conditioning will be offered first with the course scheduled to run from September 7-11.
The NFA Education and Training Office this week announced that August 7 will be the due date for application to be part of this course.
The MA FIFA/NFA Administration and Management course is scheduled to take place from September 21-25.
Participants in this course will be selected by the NFA.
Those invited for this course will have to have N$500 registration fee before the due date of August 14.
NFA Education and Training Officer Timothy Tjongarero said the courses are important for football advancement in the country, especially with a view to starting the new football season, which is expected to be in full swing by the time the Fitness and Conditioning course is offered.
“We saw the need for us to have the Fitness and Conditioning course in our calendar because our players need to be well conditioned and physically trained,” he said.
“Therefore all fitness trainers should show interest and we can take it from there,” he added.
Tjongarero further explained that the reason the administration course is by invitation only is that it is targeted at individuals already running teams.
“The other course will be about administration and management and is equally important but we are looking at those in the structures that can come and get information in terms of how to run a club, team or academy,” he said.
