A tjil panel chose these videos as the best local offerings of the year.

The best music videos are not only about how nice the visuals are, but how well-suited they are to the music.

These videos were selected based on interpretation, creativity, technical properties (editing, lighting, photography and graphics), concepts and suitability to the song.

Saka - PDK

Always pushing the boundaries creatively, the trailblazing trio impressed with another superior visual display in the form of the video for their 2019 hit song Saka.

A substantial amount of praise must go to the video production company Imagination Studio that has been directing work with striking visuals, ranging across various genres and styles.

National Address - LSD

Not all music videos need to be profound and heavily complex for them to be good.

Often simplicity executed the right way can perfectly express the sentiments of a song.

I have only watched it on YouTube, but I assume the televised version was censored, given the wording on one particular poster.

LSD's insistence to keep the visuals, knowing there would be broadcasting limitations, was definitely the right call.

The video carries a strong message and is conceptually apt for the song.

Papa G's - Kp Illest

Based on concept alone, this music video is second to none in 2019. Shot in black and white, with sharp alternating cuts between beautiful curvaceous women and product placements of Predator energy drink, the song is elevated beyond its content because of its eddy visual interpretation.
