Namibia National Student Prayer Day
Every region will have a specific venue of prayer, to be led by student leaders, spiritual leaders, and government officials

The students of different institutions took the initiative to host a prayer day. The prayer day took place on the 24 October 2020 at the Unam Main Campus Gym Hall in Windhoek.
Since December 2019, the entire world came to know much about the new Coronavirus that has affected the entire nations on planet earth. Corona Virus has taught people that as long as we share the same oxygen, water and planet earth humans are all one regardless of colour, race, religion, nationality, or status of income.
The virus has set a tone for people to unite and have common sense that our existence depends on the next human being, therefore there’s a need to foster good sincere care of the next human. As student leaders from various universities, student movements in Namibia have come together to seek for a prayer day, in calling for the Lord God’s intervention to defeat COVID19 and its effects on our students in Namibia.
It is without a doubt that as a result of the pandemic, Namibia has recorded a rise in suicide, rape, various abuse, addictions to substances and teenage pregnancies which is inevitably promoting academic failure amongst students. Psalm 50 “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” (50:15).
Action plan
Student leaders have dedicated 24th October 2020 as the main event date of the National Students Prayer Day to focus more on the effects of COVID19 pandemic, within the day student leaders aim to send an awareness campaign across the entire Namibia specifically churches to introduce COVID19 precautionary awareness message at every church sermons.
In the same event student leaders will seek to pray for our care workers who are more vulnerable to this infection, a prayer dedicated to the scientist to find a vaccine, a prayer dedicated the entire globe and Namibia for God intervention so we achieve peace and stability. Every region will have a specific venue of prayer, to be led by student leaders, spiritual leaders, and government officials. The executives will execute two days fasting dedicated to prayers before the event, the same is encouraged to all congregations who will partake in the event.
The partners include the student leaders councils; Institutions of Higher Learning Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation; Faith Believers organisation and the Church Council of NAMIBIA
