NAMAS to crown best Afropop, collab tomorrow
28 August 2020 | Art and Entertainment
The first virtual Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) premier event will go live tomorrow, Saturday, 29 August.
The two-hour live show will start at 18:00.
For the first weekend, the NAMAs will only award two categories, best Afropop and best collaboration.
Tickets to the event will cost only N$10, which gives you access to the entire two-hour show, provided you have data to stream it.
Ready to rock
“We are definitely ready to deliver the first NAMA event as part of our eight- weekend series.
“We obviously had to tone down this weekend’s event because of the 10 persons allowed limitation and that is why you will, for instance, not see any dancers on stage and an extremely limited technical crew to make this work.
“Tickets are available at Webtickets and we encourage all music fans to buy their tickets and watch the event live,” executive chairperson Tim Ekandjo said.
The nominees for best Afropop are:
Sally Boss Madam (Center featuring Don Kamati)
KP Illest (Energy featuring Ice Prince) Blossom Queen (Uvandje)
Monique English (Red featuring ESB)
Rose BLVC (Shadow).
The nominees for best collaboration are: Adora (Sim Di A featuring Jayden)
KP Illest (Energy featuring Ice Prince)
PDK (Saka featuring Top Cheri, King Elegant and Athawise)
Berthold Mbinda (Sofia featuring Kalux)
Kalux (Ti Khoe featuring Tate Buti)
The NAMAs will be broadcast again on NBC television every Sunday at 21:00.
