NAMA nominees revealed

Best newcomer to walk away with studio time worth N$30 000

The Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) announced the 115 nominees for the 2018 competition at the National Theatre of Namibia last night. A total of 978 entries were received, which is the highest number since the inception of the awards in 2011. From the entries received, 283 were disqualified for not conforming to the rules. All genre categories will receive N$30 000 and in addition to the money, Best Newcomer will receive N$30 000 in studio time to record a new album with state of the art and first commercial studio in Namibia, Nautilus Studios, in the Swakopmund Dome. The Best Album and Song of the Year will receive N$50 000 and the Best Male and Female will receive N$100 000 each.
