Alexis Swart is as die nuwe Miss Teen Namibië gekroon.

‘Hoop om gemeenskap te bemagtig’

Jeanette Diergaardt – In ’n pragtige fluweelgroenrok het Alexis Swart met die kroon van Miss Teen Namibië weggestap.

Haar wenresep is om weer te probeer, want vanjaar was die tweede keer wat sy aan dié gesogte kompetisie deelneem.

Kaylee Jacobs is as eerste prinses gekroon en Constance Chinyama was tweede prinses.

“Dit voel so onwerklik, ek kan nie glo ek is die wenner nie,” het Swart ná die kroning gesê.

Sy is tans besig met haar liefdadigheidprojek waar sy sanitêre doekies vir meisies in landelike gebiede bymekaarmaak en dit aan hulle skenk. Die projek se naam is Inner Girl Foundation.

Van die borge waarmee sy in die verlede gewerk het is Spar en Pick n Pay. Daarmee saam hoop sy om nog borge en harte te wen wat haar kan help om die projek na nuwe hoogtes te neem.

Wie is Alexis?

Die 19-jarige Swart het in 2017 aan Miss Teen Namibië deelgeneem en was deel van die topvyf. Die kroon was egter eers vanjaar vir haar beskore. Sy is tans besig om haarself as ’n skoonheidsterapeut te bekwaam.

Alexis het op sesjarige ouderdom haar ma aan die dood afgestaan, wat moeilik vir haar en haar gesin was. Sy sê sy sal altyd daarna strewe om haar ma trots te maak, en het ook ander rolmodelle waarna sy daagliks opkyk.

Sy het groot bewondering vir Michelle McLean (Namibië se Mej. Heelal 1992) en wil graag eendag ander meisies help om meer selfvertroue te hê.

Alhoewel sy haar weg op hoëhakskoene ken, staan sy ook nie opsy as dit nodig is om handgemeen te raak nie. Sy geniet die vegkuns Muay Thai.
Sy kan ook Nederlands en Duits praat.

Volgens Swart het sy baie voorbereiding vir Miss Teen Namibië gedoen, en sy kon eindelik die vrugte hiervan pluk.

Sy is opgewonde oor die pad vorentoe en hoop om haar gemeenskap met haar titel te bemagtig en te ondersteun.
