I look forward to working with some Namibian artists in the future. - Master KG

MICHAEL KAYUNDE - The Namibia Tourism Expo kicked off on Wednesday, 4 November, at the SKW Sportsgrounds in Windhoek with an official opening ceremony at 14:00.

For the opening day, expo-goers were entertained by Slick and Mel Jones, while on the musical front Rubber Duc, Riaan Smit and DJ Kiki kept attendees on their toes.

Apart from the fact that the entertainment line-up boasts some of the most electrifying performances Namibians have seen in a while, exhibitors have also been playing their part, showcasing an array of Namibian products and services.

The presence of Master KG alone is about as much reason anyone needs to be at an outdoor venue. Now add to that Master KG performing his global smash hit Jerusalema on day two of the expo, and you’ve got a dream come true for many music lovers.

Excited to work with local artists

In an interview with Namibian Sun prior to his set, Master KG shared his excitement to be in the Land of the Brave.

Asked what he knows about the Namibian entertainment scene, Master KG said: “I was booked at Walvis Bay two years ago and got a chance to hear some Namibian songs. You guys are doing well, and with opportunities like Namibia Tourism Expo, you can only go further.

“I look forward to working with some Namibian artists in the future.”

His set was electrifying and it was good to see him engaging his Namibia fans with the #JerusalemaChallenge.

Today, gates will open at 12:00 and attendees can look forward to comedy sets by Taap and South Africa’s Dalin Oliver as well as music by Vaughn Ahrens, DJ Cellos and Ivan Roux.
