Forty-four per cent of schools in the Omusati Region utilises e-learning as a mode of teaching, while the rest in remote areas with limited network coverage and access to the internet are catered for through printed booklets. Director of Education, Arts and Culture for the Kunene Region, Angelina Jantze says most of the schools in the region are in remote areas with no access to cellular network and the Internet. The region also has high poverty levels as well as marginalised communities such as the San, Ovatua, Ovatjimba and Ovahimba communities, and teachers play the role of guardians as the majority of these parents never attended school and also need support. - Nampa
