The congresses of the Livestock Producers' Organisation (LPO) and the Namibia Agriculture Union (NAU) will take place on 6 and 7 October respectively at the Safari Hotel and Conference Centre in Windhoek.
The NAU congress theme is 'Increasing Production Capacity and Food Self-Sufficiency: How Do We Achieve the Vision?' and the LPO congress theme is 'The Namibian Livestock Industry 2030: Quo Vadis - Where Are We Heading?' Congress discussions will focus on what is needed to ensure growth in the agricultural sector in order to become more self-sufficient and secure the future of the industry.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic there is a lot of uncertainty about the number of people who may attend events.
The NAU says at this stage its message is that the congress is on the agenda.
The NAU will monitor the situation and inform the regions and farmers' associations if there are any changes.
