Rapper Lioness and renowned designer Georgina Kandjeke, owner of Foxxy by FoxxyGinah, have teamed up for the Lioness x Foxxy collaboration, a collection that has excited Namibian fashion enthusiasts this spring.

In an interview with tjil, Lioness shared that the two have been working on the collaboration since last year, but only managed to launch it this month due to their busy schedules and other commitments.

The colourful collaboration is a limited collection of eight looks, with 10 pieces per look.

“Foxxy does some of my performance outfits already, so we decided we should take it a step further by collaborating on a fashion collection of which the feedback has been good so far,” Lioness said.

Creative freedom

On her involvement in the design process, Lioness said she has a good working relationship with Kandjeke, who runs the ideas and designs past her.

“She is a big brand who knows what she is doing.

She has about 80% of the creative freedom and we come up with the themes, colours and test the samples collectively,” she said.

Learning about each other

On what she learnt about Kandjeke that she didn't know before, Lioness said “I thought I was impatient, but I was wrong!”, with a laugh.

“But it's because she likes her work done properly.

“I've also learnt that she's super quick. Foxxy will make something that will leave you wondering how someone can make something so nice in such a short period of time.”
