Lemonade or nah?

Yanna Smith
So the past weekend the queen of the highest hive, her majesty Beyonce, released a visual album entitled ‘Lemonade’ and as usual, she got her fans high and also reminded them of who the queen is. The album makes a lot of people, especially me wonder if there is trouble in the beehive as she targets infidelity and black women empowerment. Remember when her sister Solange attacked Jay Z in an elevator a few years back because she had suspicions of him cheating on her beloved sister? It’s all adding up as the internet has concluded that the lady who Queen B refers to as Becky with the good hair in her album could be indeed the very same lady the elevator fight was all about. But that’s a story for another time though. What worried me were some of the comments that popped up following the album. Suddenly some people thought it was comforting that someone could be cheating on Beyonce and that she could be an unfaithful relationship with her partner. I mean who in this world cheats on Beyonce?! And if I am in a relationship and I’m being cheated on, why should I complain? I mean hello, Beyonce goes through it too? And that’s where I feel it is messed up. Suddenly wrong is the new right and to make matters worse, if a celebrity goes through it then its triple fine. But how do you know it’s true? For all we know Beyonce could have made the whole thing up and at the end of the day she logs onto her Facebook account and laughs at all those who think she’s unhappy, nogals in her husband’s arms, and then? I don’t think anyone should limit themselves so stoop so low. Heck, even if the queen of England was going through it, it’s just not a trend! Like, don’t do that to yourself. Sometimes the little voice within you that says ‘maraa’ you need to listen to it and take action in the direction it’s pulling. If your partner doesn’t respect you then leave because otherwise it becomes a situationship. The minute you settle for less than you deserve you get even less than you settled for. Rather be a queen who owns her throne.
