Keeping it real
Even though not at a fast pace, the Namibian art and entertainment industry has been recording good progress of creatives monetising their art. This development, however, is breeding a lot of overly competitive creatives who are stingy with opportunities for their peers, and we need to discourage such behaviour.
I truly can’t relate to people who say “it’s lonely at the top” because when I picture myself at the top, I picture myself along with all my talented Namibian creative friends who are hard-working. That seems more fun to me than being extremely competitive with a mindset that there’s just one number one spot - because there isn’t. There is enough success and love in show business for all of us.
Let’s help each other land opportunities. We’re more powerful together.
