The chairman of the Erongo regional council and Swakopmund constituency councillor, Juuso Kambueshe (Swapo), will not be running in the upcoming election.
He made this announcement recently during a weekly Covid-19 briefing by Erongo governor Neville Andre.
According to media reports, Kambueshe wants to study towards an internationally recognised academic qualification.
“I can't add more value than I already have. I have been part of the town and regional council for ten years. I am now available for what the world throws at Namibia because we are part of the international community,” he said, according to a media report.
He could not be reached for comment.
Kambueshe served on the Swakopmund town council and as mayor for several years.
In 2015 he was promoted to the regional council and has been serving as chairman for the past few months.
