Namibian international Benson Shilongo, who played for Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC, says he terminated his contract with the club due to unpaid wages.

Shilongo, who is back in the country after the club reported that he had gone AWOL in December, said the matter was now with Fifa.

He did not reveal the amount of money he is owed by the club, only saying that he was preparing for his next move.

Shilongo was signed by Ismaily on a permanent deal from rivals Smouha in January 2019.

Since then, Shilongo has managed to score 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 78 games, as well as representing the club in the 2019 CAF Champions League campaign.

However, this season he managed just one goal in five appearances as the three-time Egyptian champions currently lie in the relegation zone with just two points from their opening seven matches. The log is led by Al Ahly on 19 points from seven matches, and in second are Zamalek with 19 points from eight matches. In third place are Pyramids with 17 points from seven matches.
