Hype man vs DJ
A hype man and a DJ are two different things. A hype man is the type of a guy who rolls up with a musician and backs him up by pushing and hyping the crown.
A DJ is a person who mixes recorded music for an audience, a man or woman behind the decks whose aim is to give us great music only.
I'm saying all this to say: I was at a festival recently and I saw artists' DJs confusing themselves all the time on stage. I mean some of these guys call themselves DJs but whenever their artists hit the stage, they become hype men instead. Confusing such roles robs concertgoers of the full live performance experience. Roles need to be clearly defined and stick to.
