Hitman to settle Mokwena score
Former WBA lightweight world champion Paulus ‘Hitman’ Moses will headline the latest MTC Sunshine Academy’s boxing bonanza, which is scheduled for 6 August.
Titled ‘No Mercy Part IV’, the boxing fiesta will pit Moses against South Africa’s Thompson Mokwana.
The pair fought on the undercard of the Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda v Mexico’s Moises Flores world title unification fight on 11 June.
That fight ended after the first round after the South African failed to come out for the second round, claiming that he was bleeding from an accidental head butt from Moses.
This forced the referee to call the fight a no contest.
With the fight again on the cards Moses, who earlier said that “my speed might have scared him”, will now get a chance to back up his claim.
“We will now allow the fans to see this fight, because I am in the best shape of my life right now,” Moses said in a press statement issued by MTC Sunshine Academy.
“I will allow the fans to see the former Hitman: quick combinations; double and quick jabs and killer punches, and this time there will definitely be no excuse for Thompson unless he surrenders on the ground,” said Moses.
Undercards
The main undercard will see Immanuel ‘Prince’ Naidjala take on Fadhili Majiha from Tanzania in defense of his WBO Bantamweight Inter-continental title. Currently rated number 4 by the WBO in a competitive weight division, the undefeated Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo will take on Fabian Lyimo from Tanzania in defense of his WBO Africa Jnr Welterweight title.
The undefeated Jeremiah ‘No Respect’ Nakathila will be fighting for a continental title when he steps into the ring with Jasper Seroka from SA for the vacant WBO Africa Jnr Lightweight title.
The opening fight of the night will see Walter ‘Executioner’ Kautondokwa fight for his first continental title when he steps into the ring against either Walter Dlamini or Welcome Ntshingila from South Africa.
The fight will be staged at the Windhoek Country Club and Resort with the Academy’s promoter, Nestor Tobias stating that this is due to the fact that they just held a mega fight.
“Finances are a challenge and we would therefore have to make do with a smaller and inexpensive venue,” he said.
All seats in the venue will be VIP and a single seat will sell for N$300 while VVIP tables seating 10 guests will sell for N$10 000.
