Hard work and sweat lead to success - Iindji
Good things do not come on a silver platter, but through hard work and sweat, says Tomas Koneka Iindji, the chairperson of the northern branch of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI). He was speaking at a ceremony at the Ombuga Combined School outside Oshakati where he was named the school’s patron recently. Iindji, who is a professional banker and a former learner at the school, thanked the school management and the community for placing their trust in him. He urged teachers and learners to be committed and to work hard because he wants to be associated with a high-performing school. Iindji also urged parents and guardians to be involved in their children’s education. Speaking at the same event, Oshakati circuit inspector Levy Vries acknowledged the school’s effort to enhance its financial position, thereby meeting the government halfway. He further urged teachers, parents and learners to work hard to reach the regional targets in the junior secondary examination. The introduction of the school patron coincided with the unveiling of permanent structures at school named after community leaders. They are the owner of the Ndilimani Gravetone, Wilbard Johannes; the managing director of O’Yamunyoko Investment, Abel Ipinge, and Kaunapawa Nashilongo Shitaatala, a senior traditional leader in the Uukwambi Traditional Authority. The event also served as a fundraiser and an amount of N$53 511.20 was raised through sales and pledges. The money will be used for renovations. The Ombuga Combined School is located 22 km southwest of Oshakati and falls under the Oshakati educational circuit. OSHAKATI PLACIDO HILUKILWA
