A man was arrested last weekend at Omuthiya for the rape of his underaged daughter, who is now pregnant with his child.
According to the police, the rapes occurred between February and March at Onalunike village.
It is alleged that the 43-year-old man used to call his 17-year-old daughter into his bedroom, before undressing and raping her.
This happened on two separate occasions and the girl, who is in Grade 9, is now four months pregnant.
The man has been arrested.
Henties gallows
Meanwhile at Henties Bay, police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property after vandals attempted to burn down the gallows monument at the town. According to the police, the suspect or suspects used methylated spirits to set the statue alight. They also tried to chop it down, but failed.
The rope on the monument was also removed. The motive for the incident is unclear, but the monument has evoked mixed feelings recently, with some describing it as a racist symbol.
A social media storm recently erupted around the wooden stump and hangman's noose installed at the town more than 40 years ago as a warning against littering.
Violent crimes
In another incident on Saturday, a man was stabbed to death at a local bar in Otjiwarongo by a 39-year-old suspect.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Ombili Bar. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with an okapi knife in his neck and he died at the scene. The suspect has been arrested.
Also on Saturday at Karibib, a 24-year-old man was stabbed with a beer bottle on his head in front of a shop by a 23-year-old suspect. The two men were apparently quarrelling before the incident. The victim was taken to the Karibib clinic and the suspect was arrested.
In another incident at Nkurenkuru, a 59-year-old man was assaulted with a panga by a 28-year-old man and he sustained an open wound to his head.
The victim was admitted at the Nkurenkuru Lutheran Hospital for medical treatment and the suspect was arrested. At Katutura, a 28-year-old man died after he was attacked by four men on Sunday. Periuaije Uapingene was chased down Essesier Street by the suspects who attacked him and stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife.
