Gebhardt stays on
The club will keep the defender for another year, with his current contract ending in June.

Thirty-one-year-old Brave Warriors defender Ananias Gebhardt has been with South African-based club Baroka for the past two years, and is excited to extend his stay for yet another season.
“The team had an option to extend for another season, they exercised it and I'm grateful to the entire team management for another year with them.
His contract was due to run its course at the end of June, he added.
Frustrating period
On the coronavirus pandemic, Gebhardt said it has been a frustrating period, but added that the most important thing is safety. “Even though we are itching to be back on the pitch, safety comes first and football comes second,” he said.
“We have been currently training from home. We do Zoom sessions with the fitness coach and we do individual runs, 5km three times a week. “The team provided us with tracking devices.”
Gome, Starke
Meanwhile, Wangu Gome and Manfred Starke are currently the only Warriors footballers actively playing the beautiful game.
Starke plays for Kaiserslautern in Germany were football recently resumed.
Gome currently plays for FC Alashkert in Armenia on a one-year contract. The talented midfielder has been in Armenia for about four months and said not everything has been rosy during the pandemic.
“We stopped training for a while and we also experienced salary cuts during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. After resuming training, the team was divided into two groups to adhere to the social distancing regulations placed by the Armenian government,” he said.
The former Bidvest Wits footballer revealed that every day at training the team undergoes testing and temperature checking and added that one of their difficult tasks is distancing themselves on the bench.
He further said that playing with no spectators in the stadium is not fun.
