The Namibian Electronic Sports Association (Nesa) will be hosting the 2020 National Finals for eFootball PES2020 and Tekken7. The tournament will pit some of the country's finest e-sports athletes who will be playing for a position on the Namibian national e-sports team.
It is expected to be a tense atmosphere at the APS Guest House in Windhoek as a champion for each title will be decided. Gamers will begin their first matches at 10:00 and Nesa is inviting locals to come cheer behind their champions. The two athletes selected from the finals in eFootball PES2020 and Tekken7 will go on to represent Namibia against South Africa in the online regional competitions of the International E-sports Federation's (IESF's) E-sports World Championship.
Nesa is the official governing body for electronic sports (e-sports) in Namibia and is registered with the Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) since 2010.
Nesa has been hosting national tournaments and awarding national colours for esports since 2014.
The association has also managed to send athletes to participate in the IESF E-sports World Championships since 2017.
