Digital gremlin hits bank clients
WINDHOEKSTAFF REPORTER
Bank Windhoek clients trying to pay for goods using FNB Namibia speedpoints, have been affected by an electronic bug.
The two banks yesterday issued a joint statement, warning that transactions with some Bank Windhoek cards are currently being turned down by the FNB Namibia machines, adding that the jinx seems restricted to Bank Windhoek clients.
“The exact cause of the failure on FNB's acquiring platform is currently under investigation. The situation is of concern to both FNB Namibia and Bank Windhoek. FNB apologises to the affected Bank Windhoek clients for any inconvenience experienced when their POS transaction is unsuccessful as a result of this,†the dual statement read.
“â€FNB understands the urgency of addressing this matter and therefore wishes to assure the public that they are working tirelessly to resolve the issue, with plans to have the problem resolved by end of July.â€
