Young cricketer Antinus Mangundu says playing friendly matches during the coronavirus pandemic has been wonderful for him.
Mangundu was in action at Windhoek High School over the weekend in a friendly contest organised by APS Cricket. “I am happy that APS organised these matches because I really do enjoy and love playing cricket. “The coronavirus pandemic has spoiled so much for us, but we are trying as hard as possible to remain positive and play games while practicing all the necessary measures.
Grateful for chance
“I would just like to thank APS for making it possible for us to come out to showcase our skills,” Mangundu said.
The youngster said he hopes to improve his performance in order to play for the senior national cricket team one day.
“I want to become a top player and also represent my country at senior national team level in the future.
“What is important is that I remain fit and disciplined as this will be one of the only ways for me to reach to the top and achieve my ultimate goal.”
Developing cricket
APS Cricket was established in 2016 with the vision to develop junior cricket in Namibia.
The team's dream is to provide players of all age groups with ample opportunity to play competitive games, giving them enough exposure throughout the year to perform competitively and at the required standard during the official schools' league.
