The police have appealed to anyone with information on the murder of Daniele Ferrari (52) at Windhoek's Avis Dam to come forward.

Ferrari, a well-known business owner in Windhoek, was walking his dogs at the dam on Tuesday evening.

According to the police Ferrari was murdered between 18:20 and 18:45. It is alleged that Ferrari was attacked by two unknown suspects armed with a machete and a knife.

They stabbed Ferrari several times with the knife and also cut him on the forehead with the machete, which caused his death.

Helpers wounded

Two people who witnessed the attack and tried to come to Ferrari's help were also attacked and sustained injuries. They were taken to hospital and are in a stable condition. The suspects fled on foot and by yesterday afternoon no arrests had been made.

They robbed Ferrari of a Samsung cellphone.

Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said police are appealing to anyone with information on the murder to come forward and assist the police.

She confirmed to Namibian Sun that no arrests had been made. Police were at the murder scene early yesterday morning to look for evidence.
