Church bell stolen
A village church in the north suffered a loss of about N$100 000 when thieves made off with its bell on Sunday.

Thieves paid little attention to the teachings of the Bible when they stole a church bell valued at N$100 000 this past weekend.
According to the police, the robbery occurred at an unknown time on Sunday at the Oshitutuma Roman Catholic Church at Oshitutuma village in Ogongo.
No recovery or arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
Soldier injured
In a separate incident on Friday at Auspannplatz in Windhoek, a 23-year-old South African woman was arrested after she allegedly hit and injured a soldier, who is a member of Operation Namib Desert.
The incident occurred while the operation was closing a bar operating beyond its trading hours following the lockdown of the Khomas Region due to the coronavirus outbreak and the announcement that no alcohol may be sold.
The woman is a student at the University of Namibia (Unam).
Rape
In another incident on Friday at Ohamaala village in Ondobe, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man whose age is unknown.
According to the police, the man found the girl alone under a tree preparing marula juice and pulled her by the arm, dragging her into the living room of the girl's house, where he raped her.
In another incident on Friday, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an 18-year-old man at Swakopmund.
The woman was walking home from a local bar when the suspect dragged her to an isolated place.
He assaulted and threatened to kill her if she did not submit to his demands.
He then raped her.
The suspect has been arrested.
In a separate incident in Ondangwa on Friday at Ondukutu village, it is alleged that a 19-year-old woman was raped by a man whose age is unknown.
The man allegedly pushed the woman into his room, removed her clothes and raped her. The suspect is known, but has not yet been arrested.
Baby dumping
On Saturday at Tutaleni in the Twaloloka location, it is alleged that a woman terminated the life of an unborn baby and dumped the foetus among some rocks after giving birth.
The suspect, who is being charged of abortion/concealment of birth, is known to the police.
In another incident, the body of a 39-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood on Friday next to the dumping site at the Havana informal settlement.
According to the police, he was found with four stab wounds to his back, chest and stomach.
A 23-year-old security guard from Shilimela Security Services was arrested in connection with the murder.
A 51-year-old woman was fatally stabbed with an okapi knife on Friday at Schlip.
She was stabbed in the chest and back and was taken to the Schlip clinic where she succumbed to her injuries.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested.
Meanwhile at Karasburg, three Namibian men and an Egyptian man were arrested on Saturday by members of Operation Namib Desert after cannabis was found in their vehicle.
In another incident on Sunday at Otjomuise, a 31-year-old Namibian man was arrested after he was found in possession of 100 grams of cocaine valued at N$50 000 during a police search. Cash of N$117 500, believed to be the proceeds of crime, was also seized from the suspect.
