Birthday praises for Nujoma
The head of state said the best gift Namibians can give founding president Sam Nujoma is to emulate his leadership and perseverance.

President Hage Geingob joined the nation yesterday in celebrating founding president Sam Nujoma's 91st birthday, and reflected on his “uncompromising leadership during and after the liberation struggle for Namibia's independence”.
Geingob said 12 May should serve as a reminder to all Namibians “that we have not come this far to become complacent, but to continue the fight against challenges facing our nation”.
The head of state further said although Nujoma's birthday is being celebrated at a time when Namibia is fighting to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the best gift would be to emulate Nujoma's leadership and perseverance by being “leaders in our own right, leading the way in the fight to stop the spread of this deadly virus in our country”.
“On behalf of the Namibian people and the government of the Republic of Namibia, I wish you, Comrade Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, founding president and father of the Namibian nation, continued health and a happy 91st birthday,” Geingob added.
