Michelle Kleophas is a beautician based in the northern part of Namibia. She specialises in beauty therapy, wig making/styling, eyelash extensions, manicures and pedicures.
“For this profession, you will need to be neat in all services. You will need to know how to match different skin tones, and with hair, you will need to know the different hair textures and hair types,” she said.
A beautician has a fixed price clients pay, unless you are running a campaign or promotion. Being a beautician is not just all things beauty with the career. You need motivation, time, patience and hard work.
“Challenges experienced in this industry include having no clients. This is normal and should not discourage you.”
One of the most fulfilling things in this profession is having a client happy with your services, because this is a solid indication that you are doing your job well and this client might come back soon.
