Another Karasburg man killed by car

The Karasburg community has been left reeling by the death of a 41-year-old father of three, who was allegedly knocked over on purpose after an argument outside a restaurant over the weekend.
According to //Karas Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Isaak, Ambrosius Witbooi was allegedly run over by 33-year-old Martin Isaak on Saturday.
Witbooi was treated at the Karasburg hospital after sustaining serious injuries and died on Sunday morning.
Isaak appeared in the Karasburg Magistrate's Court yesterday and was denied bail.
According to a witness to the incident, Witbooi was at Rendezvous Restaurant, which is owned by his mother, shortly before the incident.
Witbooi allegedly witnessed Isaak taking money from the till behind the counter and alerted one of the staff.
It is believed that the staff member confronted Witbooi, who then became angry with Isaak. The two had a brief argument outside the restaurant before Witbooi walked away. Isaak, who by then was driving a car, then followed Witbooi and allegedly run him over.
The latest incident followed a string of other violent confrontations in Karasburg.
Last month Namibian Sun reported how a Karasburg farmer, Jan Adriaanse, allegedly ran over Bejamin Jossop with his vehicle after accusing him of stock theft. Recently there was another incident in which another farmer allegedly assaulted an employee, who he suspected of stealing alcohol.
