A 26-year-old man with an amputated leg was stabbed to death in Katutura over the weekend when two suspects demanded alcohol from him and his two cousins.

According to the police, the incident happened in a riverbed close to the Auas Primary School.

The deceased, Rudolf du Plessis, and his cousins were attacked by two suspects who demanded alcohol from them, but Du Plessis refused.

Du Plessis’s cousins ran away, but he was unable to get away because of his disability.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after he stabbed Du Plessis with an unknown object.

Du Plessis died from his wounds in hospital on Saturday.

Child raped

In another incident, a seven-year-old girl was raped by a 40-year-old man on Saturday in at Farm Katjapa in the Ovitoto District.

It is alleged that the man lured the girl with sweets to his room.

He was allegedly stabbed by a woman who he had slapped.

The man was taken to a hospital in Outjo and transferred to Windhoek. The woman has not been arrested and investigations are ongoing.
