Air Namibia appoints new acting CEO

12 February 2020 | Transport

Air Namibia has appointed its chief human resources officer, Elia Erastus, as acting CEO until a substantive CEO is appointed.

According to Air Namibia, this follows the resignation of Xavier Masule from the role of interim CEO on 10 February.

Masule cited personal reasons for his resignation and will return to his position as chief commercial officer.

Air Namibia said Erastus is a seasoned human capital professional and holds an MBL degree.

“He has amassed extensive corporate leadership experience, having worked in the energy, financial services, mining and construction sectors.”

The Air Namibia board thanked Masule for having led the airline during a difficult 11 months and wished Erastus all the best in his new role.
