Man dies after crashing into truck

A man has died when his car crashed into a truck on the Trans-Caprivi Highway early this morning.
The accident took place at around 06:30 at Shamahohi village in Kavango East.
According to the police, the deceased lost control of the Toyota pickup he was driving and collided with a Scania truck travelling in the opposite direction.
The man, who was identified as 28-year-old Boitumelo Richard Basapeng, died on the spot while, the truck driver escaped with no injuries.
According to Kavango East Police Deputy Commissioner, Bonifatius Kanyetu, the next of kin has been informed.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened and police investigations continue.
