88 suspects arrested for drugs
Drugs to the value of more than N$300 000 were seized in Namibia last month, while 88 suspects were arrested in connection with drug-related crimes.
The majority of the suspects, 84, were Namibians. Two Tanzanians and two Congolese citizens were also arrested.
In total the police seized drugs to the value of N$334 920
According to the police, 121 units of crack cocaine worth N$12 100 were confiscated during the month of September.
The haul consisted of 691 Mandrax tablets (N$82 920) four grams of cocaine powder (N$2 000), 18.8 kg of cannabis (N$187 600) and 2.5 kg of 'skunk' cannabis (N$50 300).
According to the latest crime report, three men were arrested at Khorixas on Friday for dealing in dagga and Mandrax.
In another incident on Friday, three men were arrested at Kalkrand for possession of cannabis.
At Kamanjab, a 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday for possession of cannabis.
In Wanaheda, a 34-year-old Nigerian man was arrested on Friday for possession of cannabis valued at N$220 000, while that same day a 30-year-old man was arrested in the Greenwell Matongo informal settlement for dealing in cannabis.
In yet another incident on Friday, five men were arrested at Omaruru for possession and dealing in cannabis and Mandrax tablets.
At Aroab, three men were arrested on Sunday for possession of cannabis and Mandrax powder.
In Wanaheda, a 27-year-old man was arrested on Monday for possession of 66 pieces of crack cocaine.
