When Charles W. McNab left his hometown of Rehoboth for Windhoek in 1995 to start a new career at FNB, he had no idea that almost three decades later, he would be one of the pillars at Green Enterprise Solutions, an IT solutions company that not only caters to IT needs but also helps solve business problems.Having joined the tech company in June 2013, McNab reflects on a career defined by consistency, humility and a deep commitment to people and progress.He spent 17 years at FNB working in various departments, including treasury and general banking, before stepping into a sales role. “I like to work with people,” he explains. That love for human connection made sales a natural transition, he adds. Now, as a sales executive with over 12 years of experience at Green Enterprise Solutions, McNab is more sure than ever that sales was indeed the right career path for him.When asked what drew him to Green Enterprise Solutions, he says it wasn’t a straight path. “At first, I wasn’t sure I did the right thing. It was a new field, although still in sales,” McNab admits. But the company’s founding leadership, particularly the managing director’s business ethics and support, quickly confirmed he had made the right move.“From being a spectator to being involved,” McNab says, describing how his curiosity and passion for the company's mission grew over time. A special place Today, he sees himself as an integral part of a company that has expanded from 30 to over 120 employees during his tenure.Beyond work, McNab is committed to a healthy lifestyle. Whether it’s cycling, gym, jogging, or fishing, he finds rejuvenation in movement and solitude. “It’s about trying to balance professional life with personal time,” he says.Why does he stay motivated? His answer is simple yet profound: innovation and impact. “Green will always hold a special place in my heart because it fosters a culture of innovation... to be better than we were yesterday.”
