Namibia commemorates fallen police officers
Namibia joins the world today in commemorating the International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Police Officers, also known as Interpol Blue Day, to honour police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The Namibian Police Force is hosting a series of activities in Windhoek on Saturday, including a street procession from Independence Stadium to the Israel Patrick Iyambo Police College in Olympia. The commemoration forms part of a global initiative led by Interpol, with countries around the world lighting up in blue and observing moments of silence to pay tribute to fallen officers and recognise the risks police face daily in protecting communities.
