JUST IN: Aquarium's doors may close until end of 2024
The fisheries ministry's spokesperson confirmed that the National Marine Aquarium will be closed this coming festive season, and may not open its doors again until the end of 2024.
The closure is due to repairs, which are necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and extend the aquarium's lifespan.
"It is unfortunate that the aquarium has to be closed during the 2023/2024 holiday season. However, the rehabilitation of the aquarium and the safety of our visitors are priorities at this stage," Uaripi Katjiukua said.
