The Sam Nujoma Foundation marked a significant milestone on Tuesday with the launch of a beautifully crafted pictorial coffee-table book celebrating the life and legacy of Namibia's founding president, Sam Nujoma.

Produced by New Era Publication and sponsored by United Africa Group, the book was officially unveiled by former president Nangolo Mbumba in a ceremony that honoured the enduring impact of Nujoma’s leadership.

The theme of the book, 'Celebrating a Life of a Revolutionary and African Icon', captures the essence of Nujoma’s life and achievements, from humble beginnings near Etunda in Okahao to becoming the architect of Namibia’s independence.

In his keynote address, Mbumba described Nujoma as a figure of “exemplary courage in the face of adversity”, whose untold sacrifices forged the indomitable force behind Namibia’s freedom.

“Such a leader deserves to be celebrated,” Mbumba said, emphasising the book’s role in preserving the monumental legacy of the freedom fighter and first president of an independent Namibia.

“Through this book, with its poignant pictures, generations present and future will continue to draw lessons from his exceptional life and be inspired by his courageous deeds.”

Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, chair of United Africa Group, highlighted the book’s educational value, noting: “This pictorial book serves as a powerful reminder, a tangible link to our past, allowing us and, more importantly, our children and grandchildren to connect with history.”
