BLUEBERRIES GALORE
BLUEBERRIES GALORE: Reach Namibia Project chief Samson Ndhlovu says production at the Mashare blueberry farm in Kavango East has been progressing well. During a recent visit to the farm, Namibian Sun learned that the project also provided six-month employment opportunities last year to graduates from the Mutororo Waterfront initiative.
Mashare Farm is Namibia’s first-ever commercial berry plantation. Blueberries are well known for their delicious taste and health benefits. It is a versatile superfood in high demand across the world. By exporting to, amongst others, Europe, the UK and the Middle East, the project creates jobs, earns hard currency and stimulates the local economy.
