Savanna Namibian Comedy Awards: Honouring the best in Namibian comedy

Following the resounding success of the inaugural Savanna Namibian Comedy Festival this month, excitement is building for the first Savanna Namibian Comedy Awards (SNCA) set to take place on Saturday, 7 December.

The Savanna Namibian Comedy Awards will celebrate the immense talent and creativity within the Namibian comedy scene, recognising excellence across ten diverse categories, including: Namibian Comedian of the Year, Social Media Content Creator of the Year, Namibian Stand-up Comedian of the Year, Namibian Comedy Actor of the Year, Namibian Comedy Movie of the Year, Vernac Comedian of the Year, Legacy Award (honouring the pioneers of comedy in Namibia), Namibian Comedy Adverts of the Year, SSYTYC Champion of the Year and Namibian Fav Comedy Club.

"This groundbreaking awards ceremony is designed to be unlike any awards show ever witnessed. We aim to showcase not only the humour and talent of our comedians but also the vibrant culture of Namibia," the organisers said.

"The evening promises to be a spectacular celebration, highlighting the ways in which laughter brings us together," they added.

The awards will be hosted at the prestigious National Theatre of Namibia, a venue that epitomises excellence in the arts. Guests can expect a night filled with unforgettable performances, surprises and plenty of reasons to laugh until it hurts.



Night to remember

Tickets for the Savanna Namibian Comedy Awards are now available for purchase via Webtickets and at any Pick n Pay store. The early bird price is N$150, available until Friday, 29 November.

Late bloomer tickets will cost N$200.

The SNCA is proudly organised by Alien Art Studios, with Savanna serving as the main sponsor and partners Future Media and IPRINT. Mich Gaoseb, a five-time award-winning comedian and the visionary founder of this initiative, is dedicated to uplifting and honouring the local comedy landscape and fostering a supportive environment for comedians at all stages of their careers.
