Phatboy Lutor and King Twizz elevate the game with ‘ISJAAH’

Namibian hip-hop artist Phatboy Lutor is stepping into a more refined visual and sonic space with the release of 'SJAAH, a collaboration with King Twizz – also known as Jericho – set to premiere Tuesday.

Shot at the Hilton Windhoek, the music video leans into a tailored, suit-themed concept, bringing together a group of eight figures in a setting that reflects influence, ambition and a shared sense of arrival.

The visual draws on a mix of creative voices, including Top Cheri, photographer John Deon and influencer Tate Matondo, giving the project a broader cultural edge beyond music.

For King Twizz, the release has been a long time coming.

“This project has been long overdue. It was supposed to come out a long time ago, but I believe everything happens at the right time", he said, adding that the track arrives at a moment when hip-hop needs “a true representation of what it really is".

He also praised Phatboy Lutor’s approach to his craft, describing him as an artist who “never compromises on quality” and someone whose work ethic has remained consistent over time.

The collaboration itself was not rushed. According to King Twizz, the two had explored multiple ideas before settling on ISJAAH.

“He gave me a few songs before that didn’t really match the standard I wanted for us, but when this one came, I knew it was it", he said.

The recording process was handled separately, with each artist working from their own space before bringing the final product together – a workflow, he says, that did not affect the synergy.

“The communication was really dope. We had fun with it,” he said, adding that the back-and-forth process included multiple revisions before reaching the final version.

While the track may feel like a moment for hip-hop, King Twizz is clear that it does not signal a shift in his own direction.

“I’ve been relevant,” he said. “This is just a strong collaboration for hip-hop".

Beyond ISJAAH, he is currently working on his eighth studio album, which is in the final stages of production and expected to drop in the coming months.

With production handled by Maritoko and visuals by Spectrum Media, ISJAAH positions itself as a polished entry into Namibia’s hip-hop catalogue – one that leans into intention rather than excess.

The music video premieres this Tuesday across digital platforms.
