Windhoek gets a taste of Russian cinema

Modern adaptation of Russian writer Alexei Tolstoy’s fairy tale
A special screening of The Golden Key brought Russian cinema to Windhoek as part of the embassy's nationwide Cinema Night initiative.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Windhoek hosted a special screening of The Golden Key on Thursday, 27 August, at Ster-Kinekor, Maerua Mall.

The event was held as part of Russia’s nationwide Cinema Night initiative.

The Golden Key is a modern adaptation of Russian writer Alexei Tolstoy’s fairy tale The Golden Key or The Adventures of Buratino, which was inspired by Carlo Collodi’s classic Italian tale The Adventures of Pinocchio.

The family-friendly movie combined music, dance, comedy and fantasy, featuring colourful costumes and spectacular visuals.

The film was screened in Russian with English subtitles.
