Miss World Namibia, Elly Aron, says she is ready to represent Namibia at the 73rd edition of the Miss World pageant, which will take place in Vietnam from 9 August to 5 September 2026.

The grand finale is scheduled for 5 September in Nha Trang.

The 20-year-old, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), is passionate about creating opportunities for young people through education, mentorship and community engagement.

Aron said it is an incredible honour to serve as Miss World Namibia 2026 and represent the warmth, resilience, and diversity of our beautiful country on the world stage.

“Representing Namibia at Miss World is one of the greatest honours of my life. It is both a privilege and a responsibility that I carry with immense pride,” she said.

Aron added that she is not only representing herself, but every young Namibian who dares to dream, every community that has shaped her, and a nation rich in culture, resilience and potential.

Reflecting on her preparations for the competition, Aron explained that her focus has extended beyond physical preparation.

“Preparing for Miss World has been about becoming the best representative I can be for Namibia. While maintaining a healthy lifestyle has been important, much of my preparation has centred on strengthening my advocacy, engaging with communities, and ensuring that the work of Penomwene Trust continues to create meaningful impact.”

Expectations

Tjil also spoke to Andreas Robert, Director of Miss NGO and the exclusive licence holder of the Miss World franchise in Namibia, who outlined the organisation's preparations for the prestigious international pageant.

“Our preparation runs across several areas. There is public speaking and media training, because our titleholder will be interviewed constantly and must represent Namibia accurately and confidently,” Robert said.

He added that the organisation works closely with the government, the private sector and its partners, emphasising that no organisation can achieve success alone.

Sharing his expectations for Namibia's participation this year, Robert said, “Our expectation is that Namibia will be seen, heard and taken seriously. Elly will represent us at the 73rd edition of Miss World in Vietnam, beginning in Hanoi and concluding with the final in Ho Chi Minh City.”

He added that the organisation remains both realistic and ambitious about Namibia's chances.

Offering advice to young Namibian girls who dream of representing the country on the international stage one day, Aron encouraged them to believe in themselves.

“Believe that your dreams are valid, even before anyone else does. Invest in your education, develop your character, and never underestimate the power of kindness and consistency.”

She added that there will be moments when the journey feels overwhelming, but she firmly believes that God does not allow His people to face anything they have not already been equipped to overcome.
