The Namibia Football Association’s technical expert, Jacqueline Shipanga, travelled to Brazil this week to take part in Fifa’s prestigious technical leadership diploma.

Shipanga is joining 25 selected technical leaders from member associations and confederations from around the globe at the Brazilian Football Federation Training Complex in Rio de Janeiro for block one of the 18-month-long course.

The Fifa technical leadership diploma aims to become the globally recognised qualification for technical leaders working in the game and will prepare participants for the distinct challenges and opportunities faced by a leader within a member association.

Five core domain areas will be covered: technical leadership, high performance, coach education, amateur football and management.

Passions ignited

These are all areas that Shipanga is passionate about.

"My commitment personally and professionally towards the development of football in Namibia, Africa, and globally is unquestionably driven by my passion and love for the beautiful game.

"In order to continuously ensure that I deliver my duties within my role as a technical expert to the best of my ability, I constantly embrace Fifa’s learning opportunities that will enhance the quality of my work," Shipanga said.

She added that she will forever be grateful to Fifa for creating this opportunity to enhance her leadership pathway and be among the best technical directors and leaders in the world.

"This is indeed a historic milestone to achieve not only on a personal level but to provide hope and opportunities for so many young men and women in leadership roles globally and in particular in Africa," she said.
