Windhoek High School (WHS) Old Boys added a huge 174-run win over Trustco United to their campaign in Cricket Namibia’s 50-over premier league on Saturday.Sent in to bat first on their home turf, FNB WHS Vegkop Stadium, Old Boys accumulated 300 all out in 43.5 overs, before restricting the visitors to 126 all out.United had taken an even bigger 283-run beating against front-runners Samsung Wanderers the previous weekend.United’s opening bowlers Stefan Bezuidenhout (2/25 in seveb) and Handre Klazinga (2/55 in 8.2) struck early, dismissing Divan la Cock (four), Shaun Fouché (nine) and WHS captain JP Kotzé (22) to restrict the home team to 46/3 after nine overs.However, Zane Green took over with a typical attacking player-of-the-match innings of 84 runs off 59 balls (seven fours, five sixes).Solid 50In the second half of the WHS innings, JW Visagie also struck a solid 50 (56 off 57 balls, 7x4), while number 10 Daneel van der Walt Junior was the last man to be dismissed for 33 off 34 balls (5x4 1x6), shortly after guiding the team past the 300 mark.Michael van Lingen, returning from national duty at the T20 World Cup, took four wickets for United at a cost of 63 runs in 10 overs.Van Lingen also opened the batting for the visitors, but was dismissed for a second-ball duck when JW Visagie held a catch off JP Kotzé’s first over of spin bowling.Young Ramsay McDonald (23 off 56 balls, 3x4) tried his best to hold the United innings together, but Christian Schumacher (17), Handre Klazinga (16) and Henry Hayes (16) were all dismissed shortly after hitting sixes.Each of the eight WHS bowlers used picked up wickets, with spinners Donovan Zealand (3/4 in three overs) and Henry van Wyk (2/17 in three) at the top of the list.
