Team Flippy Stars claimed top honours in the four-a-side division of the first Team Flippy Corporate Beach Volleyball event, held at Swakopmund’s Mole beach last weekend.

They were followed by Happy Du 2 in second place and MGA Cargo Simplifiers in third.

In the men’s two-a-side division, Joe and Lavan took first place, with Pumi and Dylan runners-up and Mark and Daniel third. The women’s two-a-side category was won by Nora and Isabel, followed by Julia and Patricia in second place and Rauna and Nadja in third.

Co-organiser Phillip Seidler described the weekend as “a great success,” noting that both participation and atmosphere exceeded expectations.

Saturday featured the ladies’ play-offs and finals, while Sunday hosted the men’s and four-a-side teams.

In total, eight four-a-side teams, each consisting of six members and 15 two-a-side teams, competed across four courts under sunny skies and ideal beach conditions.

Seidler said the smooth execution of the event demonstrated the potential to build on its success.

“If we manage to secure a dedicated sponsor next year interested in supporting a series of four volleyball events at the beach, we could potentially host the biggest beach volleyball series in the country,” he said.

Plans are underway to formalise future tournaments in collaboration with the Erongo Volleyball Association (EVA) to create a structured annual series.

Team Flippy now turns its attention to the Erongo RED Half Marathon on 22 November, the Minaqua Open Water Splash on 23 December, and the Run and Brew New Year’s Fun Run on 31 December.

Preparations are also advancing for the Seawork Cares Beach Series 2026, which will begin in January.
