NESA launches Los Angeles 2026 qualifiers
The Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) has launched registration for the National Esports Qualifiers to determine the country’s representatives for the Global Esports Games Los Angeles 2026.
The world championships will take place from 1 to 7 December in Los Angeles, United States.
Five game titles will be contested in the national qualifiers, namely eFootball, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Clash Royale and NBA 2K.
Open and women’s categories will be offered for eFootball, MLBB and Clash Royale, giving athletes a wider pathway to Team Namibia. CS2 and NBA 2K will feature open-category brackets.
Registration opened on 19 June at esportsnamibia.org and will close on Friday, 3 July, at 14:00.
All participants must be 18 years or older and hold a valid NESA membership, which costs N$100. An entry fee of N$50 will also apply per title entered.
Qualifier pathway
The qualifier will be conducted in two phases.
Online bracket play for CS2, MLBB and NBA 2K will run from 4 to 17 July, with participants competing from home using their own equipment.
eFootball and Clash Royale will be contested through two offline qualification rounds on 4 and 18 July, with the venue still to be announced.
All five titles will converge at the Grand Finals on Saturday, 25 July, where the national representative in each category will be crowned.
Bracket draws and team captain meetings are scheduled for 7 July.
The winners from the 25 July Grand Finals will advance to the African Regional Qualifiers in August.
Top performers from the regional stage will earn the right to represent Namibia at the Global Esports Games in Los Angeles in December.
“This is a straightforward opportunity: register, compete and earn the right to represent Namibia at the Global Esports Games in December.
“The pathway is clear, and the deadline is real. Don’t sit this one out,” NESA president Flip de Bruyn said.
The 25 July Grand Finals will be broadcast live.
Full competition rules, the match schedule and registration details are available at esportsnamibia.org.
