Three arrested for drugs at Uis
Police in Uis have arrested two Namibian men, aged 23 and 24, and charged a 17-year-old girl following a drug operation in Ehafo Location on Saturday at around 20:00.
Acting on reliable information, officers conducted a test buy at a house suspected of drug dealing. The operation led to the recovery of 75 bankies of skunk cannabis weighing a total of 110 grams, 26 quarter Mandrax tablets, and N$9,735.80 in cash, including the marked test-buy money.
The suspects have been charged under the Combating of the Abuse of Dependence-Producing Substances Act, as well as the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA).
The 17-year-old was charged and released into the care of a guardian, while the two adult suspects were expected to appear in the Omaruru Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
