IPC's Engela leader resigns

Immanuel Heita Mweshinyona has resigned as the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) vice chairperson for the Engela Constituency and has also terminated his membership of the party with immediate effect.

Mweshinyona, a founding member of the IPC who also served on the party's Ohangwena Regional Disciplinary Committee, said he has decided to step away from politics to "relax, remain independent and stay away from all IPC activities."

Speaking to Network Media Hub today, Mweshinyona said he had served the party for about seven years and ruled out any possibility of returning to the IPC, although he did not exclude the prospect of joining another political party in the future.

He has formally requested IPC Ohangwena regional chairperson Loide Neshuku to remove his name from the party's membership register.
